Our Favorite Places for Trout Fishing in Pennsylvania

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has some of the best trout fishing east of the Mississippi. Trout fishing opportunities are so numerous from each corner of the state it is sometimes hard to decide what the best places for trout fishing in Pennsylvania are.

Luckily, there are many free tools available to help you navigate the Pennsylvania trout fishing season and get on some great bodies of water. Start by utilizing the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s public website to discover trout fishing opportunities. Here you can explore stocked trout waters, search for wild or special regulation trout streams, and review the Pennsylvania trout stocking schedule. Furthermore, an interactive Pennsylvania trout streams map is available that lets you easily see exactly where different designations of trout waters exist in the state.

Two of our favorite places for trout fishing in Pennsylvania are the Tulpehocken Creek in Berks County and the Yellow Breeches Creek in Cumberland County. These creeks offer both fly and traditional trout fishing opportunities with several special regulation areas such as Catch and Release and Keystone Select Waters.
